Kelly maintains studios in both Ararat and Melbourne. For families across Western Victoria, that means maternity, newborn and family portraits can be created locally, without turning the experience into a trip to the city.
The Ararat studio is Kelly's own purpose-fitted portrait space. It isn't a hired room or somewhere she visits occasionally. It has been designed specifically for the way she photographs families, with beautiful natural light, plenty of room to move, and a calm, comfortable environment where sessions can unfold without feeling rushed.
Everything you need for your portrait experience is here. There is space to change, settle babies, take a break when children need one, and simply spend time together while Kelly guides you through the session. You don't need to know how to pose or arrive with a plan for every photograph. That is part of what Kelly takes care of for you.
Having a permanent studio in Ararat also means regional families don't receive a smaller version of the Melbourne experience. The same care goes into planning your session, creating your photographs and helping you decide what you would love to have displayed in your home afterwards.

Our Ararat studio has been purpose-fitted for newborn photography, creating a warm, comfortable and beautifully appointed space where everything we need is ready for your session. The controlled environment lets Kelly manage the light, temperature and flow of the shoot, while you can simply settle in and enjoy the experience.
Studio sessions are gently paced around your baby, with plenty of time for feeding, settling and cuddles. There is no rush and no expectation that your newborn needs to behave to a schedule.
Prefer to stay at home?
We also offer in-home newborn sessions across western Victoria. These can suit families who would prefer not to travel in those first few weeks, or who want their own home to become part of the story. Kelly brings the session to you and creates relaxed portraits in your family's own space.

Having lived and worked in the region, Kelly brings local knowledge to the planning — from beautiful pockets around Ararat and the Grampians to locations across Ballarat, Horsham and the wider Western District.
There isn't a set boundary on where a portrait session can happen. If your home, farm or favourite place is further afield, that's simply part of the conversation.
