Where?
Your family session can be tailored to your style, with the option to capture your family in our natural light studio, one of our secret outdoor locations at sunrise or sunset bathed in the golden light, or the comfort of your home in documentary style with your home as the background.
If you have little people, we ask for you to consider their wake up time and day napping schedule when working out the best time for your family. We’ve been photographing families for more than 15 years, and have found the optimal golden light outdoor shoot time to be sunrise during the daylight savings months. Sunset during daylight savings is simply too late for little people and well past their bedtime.
Our family sessions typically take 1 hour.
Choosing your styling
We have stunning outfits to style Mama’s in a gorgeous bohemian style that you’ve perhaps admired and lusted after, but may not be someth8ing you’d buy yourself. Look no further, we’ve got beautiful, coveted gowns to fit sizes 8-16.
Having my own two little girls I know how hard it can be to pull together outfits for the entire family, so I’ve added a small range of childrens clothing to our wardrobe too. Girls clothing from 6 months – size 8, and some boys outfits from size 6 months – size 3. We continue our bohemian style throughout the childrens outfits.

Posing
Our posing style is best described as relaxed but directed. We want you to look and feel your best. We guide you through the motions, taking the time to get to know you and your family. This is how your real self begins to shine in your portraits, leaving you connected to them forever.
We give you cues to interact with your children, capturing the relationships that you hold so dear. They may be funny moments, or soft loving moments – these are the ones that are going to melt your heart year after year as you see them on your walls or remind generations later as you hand down heirlooms.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a family session?
Family sessions are typically around one to one and a half hours. If you're opting for a golden-hour sunrise or sunset shoot outdoors, we are limited by the light so time is ticking.
Where are family sessions held?
That answer depends entirely on what it is you're after. We have an amazing and versatile studio space in South Melbourne, or we travel all over Melbourne (or even further afield) depending on what it is you're after.
Are grandparents welcome?
Absolutely! It's not up to me to tell you who is in your family! Capturing that happiness that family brings means you need those special people there too.
Can we include our pets?
You bet you can. Some of the best shoots include people's fur-babies as they really dial the joy up to eleven!
What should we wear?
That depends so very much on what style you're after, but once you've booked we send you a guide to help select your outfits and in our pre-shoot consultation we can walk you through how to select the perfect outfit for the whole family. Do we get digital images?
All of our prints and packages come with accompanying matched digital images so you can share your beautiful artwork with those near and far.
When should I book?
We typically have very limited last-minute availability and the majority of our clients book in a month or more in advance as we work together to understand your personalised location and styling.
